Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Amin Wains claimed on Saturday that the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) had busted a 3-member gang involved in serious crimes in the city, especially in Defence, Cantt and other adjacent areas. The CCPO said this while addressing a press conference here at Police Lines (Qila Juggar Singh).

"We had recovered Rs 5 million, 20-tola gold ornaments, laptops and other valuables from their possession," said SP CIA Tariq Mastoi. During the interrogation, the accused disclosed the names of their accomplices who are operating in other districts and confessed to depriving many citizens of their valuables, he added.

"We have also informed all the District Police Officers (DPOs) and Regional Police Officers (DPOs) about the names of arrested criminals and their gangs operating in various cities," he maintained. Commenting on the new-year night, CCPO Wains said the law will take its course against parents of juveniles caught riding motorbikes, especially on the eve of new-year.
